As a youth social activist in Kalimpong it is my pleasure to announce that Humans of Kalimpong ( the major society ) will be starting the projects of this year from this week itself. This is the 4th project taken under Humans of Kalimpong . 2014 the project was based on " oldage homes" & facilitating the senior citizens all around the town. 2015 was the most challenging as we took up sponsorship projects for the chosen 20 girls and boys from the small villages/localities in and around Kalimpong. The project was called -God's child . 2016 was way amazing than I had expected , for the year 2016 we focused our project on " youth empowerment ". So many workshops , programmes and felicitations were held to encourage the youth. This project ended up with the ever so grand Fashion show right here in Kalimpong - "NAKKAL" which mainly focused on promoting the most talented youth who deserved a good platform. This year 2017 starting it all fresh and it is the year for " girl power ". This year I have decided to focus my HOK project on " women empowerment " I will be bringing up inspirational stories from the different backgrounds of women who live here in Kalimpong and will be also collecting data & information to help those who are in need. And the big announcement is here I will be organising the official " MISS KALIMPONG 2017 " - the beauty pageant empowering all the young girls in the society and this will be held after more than 30 years and I'm so glad that the pageant finale will be held in May- June. Certainly Miss Kalimpong 2017 , the theme will be based on Confidently beautiful , I want young girls to participate who are unapologetic of being beautiful inside out , who dares to take a stand and who can really live up to the expectations of the people here and make Kalimpong proud .
All these projects wouldn't have been possible without the major help , support and training that I got from World Vision & Habitat of Humanity and also the events were successfull because I had a lot of teamwork behind me who were always there to support my struggle and celebrate the sucess together . I thank each one of them 🙏 I'm all set for 2017 💪👏
