SPOT THE TREND SPOTS : KOLKATA FASHION WALK 2 by Tribonista , The Swiss Laundry and PenTwister

Namastae everybody , welcome to my official lifestyle blog SPOT THE TREND . 

When I started blogging 4 years back , I had no idea on how influential and important this can get when time passes by , certainly it's not just about creativity, writing skills , photography or your public status on your social profiles. Blogging has so much to do with reaching with the mass and influencing them to the core every single day. Fashion is always where my heart is but the reason Spot the trend had to go beyond fashion is because people were more curious to know about the events that I have been organising since 3 years after I joined Kolkata - oh what a city it is ❤️ Hence I changed the Fashion blog to a lifestyle blog covering up Fashion , food , events and skincare giving a wide ride range of absolute information on what's new and what's trending !

Currently based in Kolkata full time , I have had a wonderful and a learning experience till date with the blogging community here . Also not just collaborations , interactions with the bloggers of the city is important for you need to inspire and get inspired as well. 

It gives me so much of pride to let you all know that recently I was chosen as one of the bloggers to participate for the Kolkata Fashion walk 2 organised by The Swiss laundry and Tribonista in association with the Pen Twister.

Well my Instagram handle  @kolkatablogger was flooded with Direct messages (DM) on inquisitive questions that I received after I posted few updates for the event.

Most of you all thought it's a fashion show with a runway and all that glamour ! No , this time it was on a different level and one of the most informative events that I have attended or been a part of .

Kolkata fashion walk 2 is all about bringing  the entire Fashion community in one. 

People always talk about Mumbai and then Delhi if they have to name few fashion capitals here in the country , the fact that some are really ignorant that few of the best designers and brands that flaunts their designs in country's most eligible fashion shows are from Bengal. Like a royal Bengal tiger , bold and confident . We take pride in that and infact the entire fashion community here does. 

Unity is definitely power and living in a country like India where the support from the mass is so much important fashion related events like this are a way to uplift the fashion scenario in another level spreading so much of positivity.

So glad The Swiss Laundry ,Tribonista and the Pentwister came up with such an innovative concept to empower all the Fashion enthusiasts and city bloggers here. As bloggers , we are the supreme need of every possible brand here and we are basically the best mode of giving information and reviews on Kolkata based brands and all the fashion related events that happens here in Kolkata . So that ways , blogs are trending and is the most accessible way to find out many things that you wouldn't have ever thought of !

Kolkata Fashion walk 2 started early with a morning blog workshop by few of the reputed  city bloggers who highlighted the entire participants on the key essentials of blogging and ofcourse the do's and the don't's . 

Pentwister ( www.pentwister.com ) , the very versatile lifestyle blogger from Kolkata gave us all remarkable suggestions on the necessity to be consistent , she laid emphasis on the importance of being passionate and sticking to your original ideas nomatter what. She later gave her views about not to be that" specific ootd mannequins "in the internet and also a designers hanger ! She made it clear on how are you suppose to flaunt the outfits if you are promoting something to do with the designers . 

Agreed on the part when she had to say something about "face is always not the first priority" , the presentation matters a lot .

The other speakers shared their experiences so far and the interactive sessions went on following the main programme of the day -

Later Mahek Rupani ( www.tribonista.com ) and The Pentwister (www.pentwister.com ) gave us a briefing about the day's plan and the programme that was planned . How exciting was this - Treasure Hunt ! All the participating bloggers were suppose to hunt for designer stores located nearby Elgin  Road , Kolkata and each location had a clue for the next one . Certainly the  task was so much interesting because here , you did not have to sit and listen or stand and talk like some typical blog events , it was one chance to perform and all the bloggers played their part so efficiently. Kudos to my bloggers community here . Always brimming with so much of confidence and positivity.

Blogging is not fooling around and therefore to those of you who are really passionate about it have a look on this.

Some of the key points from the main speakers that can be beneficial for anyone who wants to start blogging. 

1) Write blogs as often as possible 

2) Invest in your own domain name.  

3) Do not buy Followers. Be honest. 

4) Focus on your field of choice 

5) Content is the King

6) Read and educate yourself as much as possible about the industry.

7) Learn SEO and use proper keywords. Search on Google things you need to know about SEO or keywords.

8) Do not copy someone else's work. Take inspiration.

9) Do not use yourself as a hanger, add some value to it. Decide if you are a blogger or model. Think twice before possing for a brand you are linking yourself with.

10) Blogs should not be more than 500-600 words. Proof read before posting always. No one likes to read blogs with spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. 

We visited 26 fashion spots in and around Elgin Road , Kolkata and the best thing about all these stores , designer lines , boutiques and clothing lines were that they were supremely so well maintained and each store was different from the other , each designer's inspiration had a different  story which we could all relate some way or the other . The experience was definitely worth it .

The main motive of the entire walk was to highlight fashion spots in and around Elgin Road and the three important spots visited were: Bandhani (Zo-wed: www.zowed.com) , Pranay Badiya and Aashka. 

Personally I was moved with Pranay Baidya's absolute collection of stunning outfits representing Kolkata in such a beautiful way.

 He made all of us believe that if you stick to the originality  and believe in hard work , the world is ours ! His designs were classic and chic at the same time giving us an outlook of the rich Bengal culture . Certainly , all of the bloggers would agree on this - WE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS DESIGNS , right at the moment when he was briefing us a little bit about outfit styling .

Also Bandhani had an amazing set of designer wedding outfits that were pleasure to the eyes for real.
