Teesta - by PRATIBIMBHA

Teesta is holy , not just through tourism wise but Teesta has a major historical background to all the nepali community , therefore Teesta is very much our pride and saviour. But the " Teesta today " is so much in danger and the inhabitants in and around the Teesta river have been badly affected due to the construction of huge unregulated dams built in the stretches of the river .
Most of the inhabitants that are affected have lost their shelters , housings and their personal land. Also in some cases  people who were suppose to give them funds , infact " pay them " after they were told to leave their house have not been paid properly and in some cases the inhabitants have therefore complained that the middlemen have taken their money without giving a single Penny to them . They are now leading life in hunger , pain and agony.Whom are we to blame now ??
The unregulated dams has taken lives of many unknowingly and yes of course the poor inhabitants there will not get to voice their opinion often but they are " crying in pain for the sufferings that the construction of the dam has brought  to them and their family. This is so sad and I have no clue on why isn't anybody taking any strict actions, if poverty starts right down from the Teesta itself then I cannot  imagine the development of upper towns like Kalimpong. Surely , we wouldn't want our fellow nepali brothers and their family pleading  for life and ofcourse " Money ( funds ) " that they deserve.

A major cause and this needs to be highlighted , I'm so glad to introduce this new formed band to you all who has taken the initiative to voice out the "Teesta cause "through their exquisite music .
Certainly music is one factor that unites all the human soul and hopefully this band has taken this bold opportunity in their hand to bring this major cause in highlight and reach to the mass , introducing " Pratibimbha " that  literally translates to reflections.

Says Deewakar Pradhan(  one of the band members )-

"Our intention behind naming the band Pratibimbha is to reflect the social issues which have been plaguing our society for long time. Our sole intention is to make people aware of social issues through our music. Music is what we do and it's our only medium to express ourselves.
Pratibimbha is a newly formed band with variant musical backgrounds and taste. It was formed in the month of march this year.
Most of the songs of our band reflect the dark crevasses of our society where people seldom dare to shed light.
The band consists of four guys. Three are from Kalimpong and one is from Kurseong. We have Gautam Tamang on vocals. He also does recording, mastering and mixing of the songs. I, Deewakar Pradhan, write the lyrics, compose and arrange the songs. I also play the guitars in the band. Then we have Rishi Darnal who plays the bass for our band. He also does the additional guitar sections in the band. Finally, we have Kesang Wangdi who plays the drums.
Since we are at a nascent state, so we are yet to perform live gigs. Hopefully, we will be doing some live performances later this year. We have few more songs in the pipeline. Once we are done with our recording sessions, we will definitely be performing live.
Our new single Teesta is a tribute to our holistic river Teesta. It the song about the agony and wrath that endures everyday due to construction of unregulated dams along the entire stretch of the river.

So this musical presentation is a must watch and hopefully people will be aware of what is actually happening in and around Teesta . Visit the bands official facebook page where you can get their official video.https://www.facebook.com/Pratibimbha-1821436511423455/?fref=ts

A bold and a daring step towards the betterment of the society is what I have always appreciated. Good wishes to the band , also ️Thankyou Kesang Wangdi ( ( band member ) for giving me the general information about the band .

Teesta - share if you care 🙌👌🙏
